I have several videos that won't play on my xbox360, they're old and apparently Divx3 videos. I tried to open one of the videos in MPEG4 Modifier to check the header code, and it wouldn't open. It gave me the error message "invalid mpeg-4 video, (startcode not found at beginning of frame.)

I demuxed it with My MP4Box GUI and it spat out .div3 and .mp3 files. However it wouldn't remux these two files as an mp4 apparently being unable to read the .div3 video file.

I also tried filtering the video through virtualdub (this usually rewrites the header and solves any such problems) but this didn't fix the problem.

    Here's the mediainfo log:

https://forum.videohelp.com/threads/269851-DivX3-to-DivX6 basically, divx 3 was not mpeg-4 complaint and reccomended you had divx 4 and 3 installed concurrenty back in the day. so you need to install ffdshow or divx 3 and recode it to another format. If possible get the source and make a new enocde
if all else fails read the manual

    This should do it:

You may want to have it convert the audio as well, as 112kps is not standard. The utility in the link will re-encode it at 128kps

You are correct. However, many hardware players have problems playing back MP3 audio that is has a bitrate less than 128K I know that my LG DVD player (w/ Divx compatibility), Dlink DSM-320, and Popcornhour don't seem to like bitrates lower than 128K.
