Currently I’m using a Sony HVR-Z1E. Capturing the HDV footage (1440x1080i) to my computer is no problem. But when I play the captured footage, you can clearly see the interlacing (especially when the camera pans).
It’s normal to see the ‘interlace lines’ on a progressive PC screen. However, it’s not very useful while editing and previewing edited scenes. Therefore I’m considering buying the Black Magic Intensity Pro card. But I’ve some questions about it:
1. Does anyone know if the card deinterlaces footage realtime also on your PC screen? (Or does it only deinterlaces the external output on the Black Magic card which, for example, is connected to a HDMI TV)?
2. Is the Black Magic card capable of deinterlacing footage realtime at the HDV resolution of 1440x1080i? (I think it is, but just to be sure. The manual refers to several SD formats, and the Full HD format of 1920x1080i).
3. Does anyone have experience with this card in combination with Sony Vegas? (I read on some forums people have trouble with it. But that was in January, there might have been some updates?).
Thanks a lot in advance!
Tommy.

You might want to read about my experiences here. It deals with the interlacing issues.
