What is A GOOD way to burn a TV Series??

I saw a thread on this, its actually like 6 threads below this one. But it didnt really answer my question. I have ripped a couple of seasons of the office onto my pc in .avi format. About 250mb each. I want to convert it to a dvd format first of all so I can put more on the dvd. And i want a program that converts it fast unlike ConvertXtoDVD, it only goes at about 1.6x the highest.

Thanks, maybe there is a all in one progam that will do this stuff?

well my dvd player wont just play an avi file i need it to be converted to a dvd format. and sometimes if just one avi file like 750mb it takes up the whole dvd, i dont know why

Whats wrong with using convertxtodvd? If you want fastest all-in-one, convertx is the fastest IMO...as I have also tried dvdflick and TFM.

how fast does it usually go for you, it only goes up to like 1.65x if im lucky

How many DVDs and what running time in each season originally, and how many do you want to end up with ?

Highest encoding setting gives me like 1.25x-1.30x on my system. TBH I only use these all-in-one for quick dirty encodes, not for something I plan on keeping and archiving.

well like i said i ripped both seasons 1 and 2 of the office onto my hard drive and theres only 6 episodes in first season and about 23 in the second. It takes a LONG time to do just 7 episodes, because thats what Im putting on each dvd. and half the time after waiting for ever it said there was an error. avi2dvd is good, but I cannot make a menu in that so theres really no point cuz it onnly makes the vob files.

it originally took up 4 discs at 477 minutes. Of course the orignal had better bit rate on the video, etc. But that also includes all the extras and pointless crap. But i was going to get them on 3 DVD5 size DVDs and have 7 episodes on each one

nah im just talkinmg about the secon season lol, there are 22 in the second i will have 8 episodes on one of the disks. So you are still saying convertXtoDVD is the best thing to use?

thats for everything, thats what it says on the back of the box. Im guessing maybe 350 just for the video part

This is becoming very long and drawn out; I'm trying to ascertain exactly what you have as you may not need to re-encode anything at all.

I can think of 3 ways to do this;

1. Rip each ep using DVDDecrypter in IFO mode - set up a batch a la https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1373527#1373527 - you should end up with one big VOB for each ep if you set file-splitting to none. Make sure that "copy IFO file" is ticked as well. Use something like TMPGEnc DVD Author to import each ep, then create your own menus. You may or may not then need to use DVDshrink on the final product.

2. Rip each disc to a seperate folder using DVDDecrypter in File mode. Use DVDShrink in reauthor mode and simply drag the titles you want each disc to contain into the reauthored layout. Output and DVDShrink will transcode it down to size automatically.

3. Manually re-encode all eps to fit using convertxtodvd, or a dedicated encoder.

this might be a problem. I dont have the disks anymore, they werent mine to begin with.
