  1. Does anyone know why an AVI that plays perfectly would go out of sync at a certain point in the movie (around 20 min in) when I author it to DVD?

It is at 29.97 fps so I didn't change the audio at all. Just encoded it to MP2.

I also tried using a step-by-step DVD author called FAVC. It encoded audio to AC3 using Aften and still had the same problem.

The avi is probably corrupt even if it's playable on the computer. Try scan for errors in the avi with virtualdub.

  3. Scanned video stream for errors and it said nothing is wrong with any frames.

Also I should mention I authored to a DVD folder and it is out of sync when viewed with PowerDVD and VLC.

  4. Your avi file probably has a little offset between audio and video before conversion, even though it seems as though it does not.
Try running the avi file through AVIMuxGUI per the instructions in this link:

    https://forum.videohelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=1338598#1338598

    Then create your DVD.

  5. AVIMux says there is no delay.

  6. There's one other possibility here.
Try the DVD in a real DVD player as opposed to a software player on your PC.
It's possible that you've created a perfectly good disc and something's corrupted within Windows.

    Have fun,
