When converting a divx avi file to DVD, what are the absolute best settings
to use for maximum quality?
I usually use:
DVD ffmpeg
High Quality
Two-Pass Encoding
The output although good, is noticibly inferior to the standard output of say
DivxToDvd on windoze which I usually run in virtualised window with Parallels
Workstation. I'm a mac guy and I want to use mac only!
Would mpeg2enc be better? If so, which options are best (size no issue)?

You could activate Use B-frames, 4 motion vectors and Trellis quantization as well for more quality. And bump the bitrate. And lower the Qmax.
Can you link to screenshots of this noticeable inferiority? Same scene for both encoders please.
The developer seems to think ffmpeg beats mpeg2enc output quality-wise.
