ok...here's the rundown. i recently downgraded my QT7 (7.0.4 to 7.0.1) because it didn't suit my needs for burning files, in addition to the loop holes that were left out of the upgrades. prior to having 7.0.4, everything was runnning GREAT. i could drop my video files into to Toast, and everything worked fine. so, the problem that i have now is none of my video files have sound when i run them through QT. if i use VLC, they work perfectly, but QT, no success. i have just about all the programs for converting etc. but i really like Toast's (using Toast 7.0.2) ability to burn video files fast. Toast burns the files, but there is never any audio. can anyone help/ tell me what i should do?? i've burned video files before, but i'm at a lost on this one. thanx. MB

In this thread it's mentioned that some unhappy QuickTime 7.0.4 users solved their issues by downgrading to 7.0.1 then re-upgrading to 7.0.4.

I seem to recall reading that early QT7 releases broke some AC3 stuff, but since VLC has it's own non-QuickTime routines for AC3 sound, it would be unaffected.

VLC is not Just a player anymore.

You can now use the transcode wizard in v. 0.84
to perform a "hijack/wiretap" style capture of
your video and audio to another type of source file,
such as DIVX AVI or MPEG-1.

Instructions are included in the Wizard built into the app.
