  1. Hi everyone,

I'd like to share Aucdtect Wrapper, a Windows GUI for the original auCDtect audio analysis algorithm.

It uses FFmpeg to prepare source files in a standardized PCM format, runs auCDtect analysis, generates Peak Hold spectrograms for tracks classified as MPEG or UNKNOWN, and creates a standalone HTML report.

    Main features:
    - Batch processing of individual audio files and multiple folders.
    - Support for various audio formats, including Hi-Res and DSD (DSF/DFF).
    - Peak Hold spectrograms without smoothing or post-processing.
    - Four processing modes, including spectrogram-only analysis.
    - Customizable launcher themes and font settings.
    - Standalone HTML reports with Dark/Light themes.

    Current version: 0.6.7

The latest version is attached to this post.

Feedback, suggestions and bug reports are welcome.

  2. Hi everyone,

Aucdtect Wrapper has been updated to version 0.7.0

    What's new:
    - You can now drop a parent folder containing multiple album folders to process them all at once.
    - Added an option to choose which HTML report to open when processing multiple folders.
    - Added a taskbar progress indicator.
    - Added an option to show or hide track separator lines, along with the ability to reset all settings.
    - Refined the Lemon Emerald and Green Yogurt themes, along with other visual improvements.

Thanks to GreenYogurt from Soulseek for the suggestions and help with testing.

  3. Nice but imo there is nothing better than a spectrogram when there are doubts. Also auCDtect often fails on 24 bit files.

Would it be possible to add mka container, and eventually mp2?

    Thanks for the feedback!

I agree that spectrograms are the most useful visual reference when there are doubts. That's why the Wrapper can generate them for all tracks, although by default it only saves them for MPEG/UNKNOWN results.

Regarding 24-bit files, the Wrapper converts the source to 16-bit/44.1 kHz PCM before passing it to auCDtect. Dithering is intentionally disabled because it adds low-level noise that could potentially mask some of the compression artifacts auCDtect is looking for. Spectrograms, however, are generated directly from the original source files. I also consider auCDtect's results an indicator rather than a definitive verdict.

MKA and MP2 should both be possible to add. I'll look into including them in a future update.
