Can one change their Signature text, without it rippling through everything and thereby revising the Sig for all (many years worth) of our previous posts here ? If I do such a change, I'd rather have it leave the posts history intact as is, with the change only applying from that point forward. If so, what need I do ?

No, signatures are part of your user profile and you can only have one.

O.K., thanks, I see. In that case, can I add an additional sentence to the existing one, or will that then run into a length limit ?

After a very long time, I'm about to change my Sig . . . which is going to ripple thru many years worth of my posts here. It's not that I'm any less fond of pinball, but I've given the PHOF in Vegas tons of publicity over the years, they're currently on their third location, the proprietor of it is no spring chicken, and last I heard he had no succession plan in place. On top of that, consider this:

Las Vegas is DYING: 9 Shocking Signs of Total COLLAPSE:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mrrSqITmWpY&pp=ygUjTGFzIFZlZ2FzIGlzIER5aW5nIDkgU2hvY2t...bmcgU2lnbnM%3D

which I have no good reasons to dispute, even though I haven't visited LV since 2016. (The writing was clearly on the wall, even quite some time prior to that.) I used to go there about twice a year, for well over four decades. But the decision makers for LV have gradually taken adverse steps that amount to strangling the golden goose. Although it tends to get repetitious, so many points raised by that video ring true. It's really unfortunate.

[Just for the record, here is the old and very longstanding Sig: "When in Las Vegas, don't miss the Pinball Hall of Fame Museum http://www.pinballmuseum.org/ -- with over 150 tables from 6+ decades of this quintessentially American art form." ] I remain intermittently active on Pinside, which is to Pinball what VH is to Video-related topics.

A new Sig will appear shortly, geared to another, different passion of mine.

No, posts and signatures are separate data entries. Thus there is no 'ripple',...

I was there a few years ago as part of 5 week road trip. Well I should say went through and around LOL. Spent the night in Boulder city for very early morning adventure to Hoover Damn, I was there so early I have pictures of the dam without a person in sight. Took the first tour and I think i was out there before 11ish but I guess that depends on the which side of the dam.

Then I headed into Vegas to Red Rock Canyon, Mt. Charleston and ended the day exiting the Las Vegas area via the Valley of Fire. I was at Utah border later in the evening. That was my Las Vegas vacation. LOL.

Hmmm, it looks like all the prior Sigs have now been replaced. (?)
I'd have to call that a "ripple effect."

The new Sig proved to be too long, and so had to be truncated slightly.
The removed portion read: "Free to join, but please take note of the published Rules." These tend to get re-posted daily, as a reminder. The primary rules (for requests) are: No more than 2 requests per week, which is fairly standard at some like-minded boards, & Nothing more recent than from 15 years ago -- as of the current time -- for precautionary legal reasons. There is however a functioning PM system for registered members which is "off the books", and as such not strictly subject to the same limitations. One minor caveat is that the software of that forum is nowhere near as robust as the one on which VH is running, so a lot of fine posting control is lacking.
