V3 models and now the later V5. At a fairly steep price point, higher than Nvidia Shield. (The latter which I have, and like a lot. Still the "King of the Hill" I'd say, until something else comes forward to dethrone it.)
Does anyone here have hands-on experience with these, and can comment ? I've bookmarked a bunch of reviews and Reddit discussions, which I'll work my way thru as time permits. Probably check over at AVSforum as well. But, you know, I've been around the block a few times with various devices, most recently expressing an underwhelmed reaction to one of the Dune models. (Yes, turns out there are real differences between just-player boxes, and more diversified Streamer / Player ones.) And this one would be expensive as another "experiment." That, plus the example of the Dune box, led me to dismiss the idea of exploring other expensive experiments, like Zidoo and Zapiti. We've had plenty of disappointments or flash-in-the-pan cases before, in this category. Remember the Dragon Box ? Or Skystream, which I gave more than a good shot, but which went Pffftttt and turned into doorstops ? So, a healthy skepticism remains very much in order. That's not to say that something else could not still come along, and prove its worth -- the way that the Nvidia Shield has.

Well, the first Reddit thread I checked -- referencing a couple models earlier version of the device -- has respondents stating that it is just another Android box from a Chinese company (but an unusually overpriced example), making extravagant, BS "Cut-the-Cord" claims, of a sort we have seen prevalently and repeatedly. In that thread it was also claimed that the box could include beaucoup malware, and you'd be hard pressed to detect it until it bit you.
