I have two MKV files, each of which can be independently played on my WD Live Media player, however when I join the two mkvs using MKVmergeGUI, the resulting file is unplayable on the same Media player, any idea what could be wrong here ....

    Thanks in advance
    Regards
    Sammy

  4. The reason is header compression is enabled by default past versions 4.0.0 . Many devices require a firmware update to play.

You can either disable header compression, or use v4.0.0 or older

The newest version has an option to disable header compression by default

Well, How about that!!! Only took 3 or 4 version updates past v.4.0 and six months of complaints from users.
