I am planning to make a video soon to help instruct someone on using some software and would need to know what is good decent software that I can capture video on the PC that can be recorded to say either AVI or WMV. I have seen videos before where I have seen actual video of PC screens being used to either demo or teach people on how to use specific software. I would like to know what that capture software would be.

    Or try WINK

More of an annotated screen capture sort of tool rather that a true video capture, but creates FLV's for simple software demo's, etc...

Windows Media Encoder also lets you screen capture and you can save directly to WMV.
