  1. :-?
Hi I run a PIII 700 under XP. (with 128 MB ram but upgrading soon)
My PC came with a Firewire card but I do not have any digital camera. Is there a way to link up my vcr or camcorder ? (like that ATi wonder USB but then for FIREWIRE)
or do I need to buy a capture card or something .??

I looked around the site but it seems a lot of cards are not fully made to run under XP (or AM i wrong)
ALs for a PIII 700 it is maybe wise to run something with hardware acceleration....
any suggestions are more than welcome.
    thanx ;)

What kind of outputs does your camera have ? I'm assuming it's a standard vidcam with a composite vid and RCA Audio outputs. If that's the case, then yes you'd need a capture card. Unless you can get some sort of other Digital Device that has Composite / RCA inputs, that would let you then output from there to Firewire......like a Digital Camcoreder.....

    Hope this helps. 8)
