  1. I'm converting a miniDV home movie to DVD (TMPEGExe). The encoding works OK, but because of the excess noise (some from the camera, some from the compression), the MPEG isn't quite as good as it could be. I've tried 5 different noise reduction plugins (static--dynamic looks horrible on unsteady hand-held camera footage) for VirtualDub as well as the noise reduction in TMPEG (which is unbelievably slow). Does anyone want to share their favorite filter and settings for this task?

  2. Maybe there is a noise reduction plugin for VirtualDub that deals specifically with the DCT compression noise?
