I have Ritek G05 media that I also got from Newegg. They write at 8X with my Pioneer A07 both with Nero 6 and DVD Decrypter.
DVD Indentifier says (8X Cannot be Detected), but that has also happened with other 8X media - don't know what it means.
Has other 8X media written at 8X for you? If so, what brands?

What are you burning - video files, iso files, etc?
I've notived that some disk/file combination does not burned at 8x when they should. With Nero, Best speed was reached with Video files.Stuck at 4x with ISO.
    I do not know why.

    jeryray,
I have burned Ritek G05 from DVD Shrink - it uses Nero. Although the burning rate is not displayed the total burn time was consisent with about 8X - definitely much faster than with 4X media I have used. I also generated an .ISO file with Author mode in DVD Shrink using a DVD Decrypter rip and then burned with Decrypter. The burn started at 4X, soon went to 6X and then went to 8X about 1/3 through and stayed there until completed.
The above have been my experiences with Ritek G05 media and a Pioneer A07 burner.
