Hello,
I see that a lot of people ask about subtitles for dvd and avi. I was wondering if a new forum for just subtitles would be useful. It doesn't exactly fit dvd-dvdr or authoring or dvd-avi. This might help get questions answered faster. Just a suggestion.

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Yes, I do.
I made the same suggestion several months ago but nobody thought that it was worth it. I hope it happens.Happy to be here. -
Hello,
Thanks for the nod. I don't do subtitles but it seems to pop up all the time here.

No. It would just add to the already lengthy main forum page. Besides, there have been many subtitles posts, but not as many as a dozen other specialized subjects.

Hello,
Thanks for the mod input Cap. I just figured it comes up a lot but is unique.

NP. That's what feedback is for. Fact is, Baldrick just reduced the size of the main page to speed up loading for our modem visitors. The forum main page no doubt takes a while to load too.Originally Posted by yoda313

The word subtitlling could be inluded in the description list
of DVD authoring. -
Not so sure about that. I don't do subtitles, but from the questions I have seen they vary from questions about making fixed (hard coded) subs for (S)VCD and divx, seperate subs for divx and selectable (or not) subs on DVD, so its not specific to DVD authoring. Also see many questions regarding conversion of subtitled Divx to (S)VCD or DVD and the subtitles becoming unreadable (usually fan subbed animes). Of course this is the old overscan problem.Originally Posted by offline
