  1. Ok here is my question I have a backup of a PAL movie that says its region free well dvdinfo pro shows Disc Regions as 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 now this disc plays fine in my Samsung HTDB600 player but when I insert it into my Sony DVP NS725P player it wont play the disc even though the disc is region free do the Sony Player have to be region free also? Not sure how this is supposed to work thank you!

EDIT: What I did was use this tutorial right here https://www.videohelp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=221928 and now the pal dvd plays in that dvd player that wouldnt run it before the movie played great! Thanks

    Hello,

Can the Sony Player play PAL discs?? Also, what type of media is it -r or +r?? That will make a difference. Read up on your Sony manual to see what types it plays and what regions it plays.

Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw?

Region (or region free) and PAL/NTSC are apples and oranges. PAL and NTSC are the video format. Region is a designation in the video files that tells the DVD player what region is allowed to play that disk.

You can have a PAL disk that's region free (or region specific) or you can have an NTSC disk that's region free (or region specific).
