  1. Has anyone actually managed to get an HP CD writer to work under XP

    If so can you advise on how you did it and where you got the drivers, software etc.

    please help while my grey hair is still in the minority

  2. I've got a HP 9350i and it's worked flawlessly in xp.. i didn't do anything special, same way its always been connected in 98/2000/bsd
    i've got an ABit kt7A-RAID with the hp on the via, primary master

  3. I am using two HP recorders in Win XP. They are:

    1) CD-Writer 9900j (on HP site as 9900ci). This is a CD-RW/DVD combo drive with respectable specifications.

    2) DVD100i, a CD-RW & DVD+RW writer.

    I installed them both by plugging them in- that's it! They have internal drivers and Win XP knows all about them.

    The only problems I ran into were related to trying to use the latest XP updates for Roxio ECDC Platinum-- ALL of the CD drives disappear from my system and removing the software does not solve the problem. I needed to use the System Restore feature (very, very handy) to get the bad drivers removed and the system back to working condition.
