  1. Need help...I tried running ADVDInfo to check what kind of DVD-R media that I have and I am getting an error message ("Could not create Device List"). Does anyone know what that means (and is there a better software to check if the DVD-R media that I have is Ritek)?

I installed ASPI from adaptec using the following command (run install.bat XP32). Is the XP32 correct setting for a Compaq Presario? Any tips would be appreciated.

  2. Two questions. First, are you checking the media type in your DVD ROM or burner, and two, what OPTION in ADVDINFO are you using to check the media type?

  3. The "pre-Recorded information in lead-in" should let you take a peep at the manufacturers disk id

  4. I am using a DVD ROM (but I am going to install a DVD burner to my system soon). In relation to the second question, I am not selecting any option in ADVDInfo since I get the error message when I first start the program. It then exits me from the program so I cannot get inside ADVDInfo.

In response to SERAPHIC, what exactly do you mean by your response?
How do you get the "pre-Recorded information in lead-in" and from what program? Thanks all for your help.
