I tried to open a burned dvd in dvd shrink 3.2 and it gave me data error cyclic redundancy check? It failed at 34% percent? Could it be the media or the fact that's it has scratches? Its a Great Quality media..

most likely scratches or finger prints. Always clean the disk before attempting to copy it.

Once you've follwed Gunslinger's advice (please do so before going any further), if you still have scratches, get some Brasso or white toothpaste and some Armorall. Clean the scratches as best you can with the toothpaste/Brasso. Clean off any residue. Then add the Armorall, wait half an hour and wipe it clean with a lint free cloth.Originally Posted by sssax2003
There are some programs that can extract data from the remaining readable portion of the disk, but the above procedure can usually end up getting the most from a disk.Hello. -
