  1. ok here's the thing, I started converting .avi files using tmpgenc and then burning then using Sonic MyDVD, and it all went great, but somehow, after I reinstalled windows and all the same programs, whenever I get an avi file and convert it using tmpgenc, the audio dissapears, completly! I have no idea why, altought I might think that this is a problem with the audio layer I choose at the beggining, does anyone have any idea how to fix this??? or can you give me the name of a program that I don't have to pay for that you know it works to convert .avis to mpeg2s?????
    Thanks in advanced, Lucasiga

  2. Open your .AVI in GSpot and see if you have a compatable audio codec installed. Also, could you let us know what the audio format is in the files that are giving you trouble?

  6. I don't know what's wrong with TMPGEnc that it can't read those files - MP3 is a very common format for .AVI and should be read natively by TMPGEnc (I think).

Try removing the audio from your file and saving it as a .WAV. You should definitely be able to feed this into TMPGEnc as your audio source.

  7. Sounds like it could be a problem with VBR mp3 audio. Use virtualdub to save tha audio as an uncompressed wav file. Then use this as your audio source in tmpgenc.

  10. I had the same problem after reinstalling all my software and OS. You have to re-install all the codecs for compatibility reasons. I hate that TMPEGEnc does not recognize MP3 as a Standard.
