Can you guys help me find out where to purchase the discs I have listed below. I made up my mind on which drive I've decided to purchase, Optorite DD712A. I'ev been searching around in yahoo and google and can't seem to find the mentioned disc with the specific media codes. I've visited sites that carry the mentioned brand, but the media codes don't match. It seems as if they only carry the discs that are compatible with the optorite model that was put out before the 712A.

I would have helped if you'd mentioned where in the world you are. It's no use people suggesting a particular online retailer, only for you to complain they don't take payments from/ship to your country. Do you have a credit card? That's also a factor in buying online as certain places do not accept anything else.

You can't tell what you're getting for certain until you open the box.

Just do what the rest of us do - buy and try.

Just stick with Taiyo Yuden DVD-R or Maxell DVD-R and forget the rest!

Josef K must be sleep or something; He normally replies before you hit the submit button

    As for Mystice

Do your yourself a favor... forget Optorite.
I don't know what experinces you've had with optorite in the past, But mine works just fine (DD1203 w/firmware 110E). As a matter of fact, I'm achieving 12x now as I surf the web, checking email, and replying to your comment towards Optorite. My optorite burns every piece of cheap media that I have at 4x; most drives don't do that. I no this for a fact; I've had my Sony DRU-500a for two years and never burned 4x with any media (over 25 different types)

My optorite matches that of the mighty Plextor 712A (As far as speed and media compatibility) and we all know that the plextor is one of, if not the best drive on the market.

Three cheers for Optorite; Hip-Hip Horray. Hip-Hip Horray, Hip-Hip Horray 8)
