  1. Hi,

Are there any friendly video editing software out there? Easy as Virtual Dub.

I have tried Vegas/Pinnacle Studio/Adobe Primier before and they are all too complicated for me to use.

All I want is to have cutting and merging. Virtual Dub has that, but it does a bad job compressing. And the qualitify of the video is lessened after editting it.

  2. You can cut and merge in VirtualDub without recompressing.
    (No quality loss)

    Check the guides.

Its not virtualdub that compresses video, its what codecs you choose and what bitrate that usually dictates the size and quality, gastorgrab advice is the right choice for you anyways.

  4. try setting the compression off (Direct Stream Copy).
    Or for alternatives, try Nandub
and try MPEG-VCR for MPEG files. http://www.womble.com/

If you set both the audio and video to "direct stream copy" before you save with Vdub, then the video will be saved in it's original format. No re-encoding, no compression, no change to the video at all.
