I just recently built a new computer for a friend. The specs is :
ASUS AV7133A
256 Meg PC133
2 x 30 gig WD on primary IDE
56X CDROM secondary IDE
Now, what I did was first install Win2K, which install fine. Then for kicks, I tried to install WinXP for a dual boot system. During the install phase, the setup would freeze on "setup is starting windows". Of course, being the idiot that I am, I tried to do this for one whole week, without success. I've tried changing the IDE cable, switching the hard drives from master to slave, and so on.
Finally, I got piss and put in a 20 gig IBM deskstar. WinXP install without a problem. So now I have a dual boot system.
Now I have a usable system, but could anybody tell me why the 2 WD harddrive would not work.
