Looking for recs for online stores to buy DVD -r or +r disks.
And if you have a BTC1008 burner, what disks gave you the best success?

    I have the 1004. I found this on various firmwares (43 and 47) ...

    Good:
    RITEKG03 Arita
    PRODISCS03
    MXLRG01
    TDKG02
    LD01 (inkjet)
    MCC
    RITEKG04 (inkjet)
    OPTODISC -R
    INFODISC +RW
    TDK -RW
    SONYD04

Normally good, but odd errors with random bad burns (whole disc bad):
    MXLRG02
    TYG01
    RICOHJPN 4x

    Bad:
    PRINCO
    PIODATA
    LEADDATA
    RITEKG04 (matte)
    RICOHJPN Arita 4x
    RICOHJPN 2.4x
    CMC
    AN32
    AN31
    OPTODISC +RW
    OPTODISC +R
    MATRIX

www.nomorecoasters.com is still a good guideline...

...but this is my personal results with my BTC1004 burners. The BTC has odd quirks with otherwise top MXL/TY media, but some of that could also be the HD, hard to tell. Just strange it only happens on those two media.

    Hope this helps.

How do you tell the difference between Ritek G04(matte) and Ritek G04 (inkjet) (or RICOHJPN and RICOHJPN Arita etc...)

Is that a label on the package?

Yes. Those extra descriptors are what is on the top of the DVD (for discs that have many kinds of tops).
