    DVD-Video files allocation failed??

i recieve this message when i try to burn mydvd files to dvd... i am using the method of taking an avi file and using tmpgenc/dvd-lab/nero... i have converted a bunch without any problem... the file goes through tmpgenc just fine.. when i load it into dvd-lab, it shows up perfectly and i can preview it.. add chapters and convert to dvd.... but the resulting dvd files can't be viewed in windvd and i get the message when i try to burn it to nero... any suggestions?

hi mate, all the files that NERO thinks you need aren't there. The .IFO files tell NERO how many Video Title Sets (VTS) that are on the disk.

Try burning as a data disc, create ur own VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders, put all video files in the video_ts folder, leave the audio one blank. Then burn as a data disk...try that

that is what dvdlab does automatically... windvd recognizes that the video_ts file is there and even recognizes the chapters/and length.. but it doesn't do anything when i push play

Ok, Mmm, try burning as a data disk. Is it only happening with this one dvd, or em all?

I get the allocation error on about 25% of the movies I burn in Nero. I just ignore the message and burn. Haven't had one that wouldn't play yet.

    My process:
    1)Rip/create VIDEO_TS folder
2)"Play DVD from folder" with WinDVD
    3) Burn
    4)Play (on PC, then standalone)

Open the .IFOs in IfoEdit and click 'Get VTS Sectors'. This will resave all the .IFOs correctly (make a backup of them beforehand if you're unsure of this) and Nero should not whinge about them anymore.
