So I wanted to back up some non-region 1 DVDs. When I put them in I get a warning about changing the region of the DVD drive and how I can only do it so many times. Any way around this? Anyone know anything about this, because I don't.

You shouldn't get the Region warning until DVD Player launches. Don't launch DVD Player! Should be as simple as that. System Preferences/CDs&DVDs/When you insert a video DVD: IGNORE. The DVD will mount, DVD Player won't launch, then you run MacTheRipper.

Invisible Man (R2) can be ripped perfectly on a R1 laptop with an old version of MtR, so I assume you'll have success too.
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.
