Is Adobe sleeping with Microsoft?

I have a Adobe EncoreDVD CD2 which contains extra menus templates and video clips for motion menus. These video clips are in WMV9 format which explains why EncoreDVD installs directX9 and WMV9 codecs which I dont even want on my system but I am am forced into into it because there is no option to exclude this crap during the EncoreDVD installation. Encore is great but Abobe seems to have abandoned decent custom installation options. I thought it was bad enough that Windows XP installs all kinds of crap I dont want like Media Player and Movie Maker and MSN.

WMV9 is very high quality and installing it does nothing wrong or breaks anything ..

media player is crap - tis true , but you dont have to install it or use it ..

MSN you cant simply remove -- which i prefer also .. google " remove msn xp"

dx9 has nothing to do with wmv9.

you should have directx9 also if you play any games whatsoever on your computer... plus a lot of codecs can never hurt anything because u might run into a file where you need that stuff

Another reason for my hatred of WMP9 is the defaults. If you dont uncheck those boxes you are vunerable when you are on the internet. I used a online firewall test and it showed that my firewall was good but WMP9 was making my system insecure.
With more and more worms and viruses bieng created every day it doesnt hurt to be cautious.
