  1. U may buy media with ID MCC that is made by Moser Baer(?) for instance, so that's not real Mitsubishi media.

Is there any fool-proof way to know who's the actual manufacturer of the media we buy?
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks

Have you noticed that a slight tax increase costs you two hundred dollars and a substantial tax cut saves you thirty cents?

What? You expect counterfeiters to put down THEIR REAL names in the media ID section?

That's like asking money counterfeiters to put a "Counterfeited by Joe Mama" at the bottom of the bills they print!

You can trust the media ID as far as you can trust your government

Balanced with "made in" and common sense (branded or not), yes, it's useful.

  5. Look how long Piodata has been getting away with saying they are "Pioneer OEM."
Still a few bugs in the system...

A while...they ALMOST suckered me into buying those discs when I ran out of 2X TDK's some time ago and still used the DVR-104. Instead I found the NEC ND-1300A for $100 or so shipped, ordered that and a pack of G04's. Ever since, G04's are all I use as I tend to stick with what works. These are a bargain at under $1 per disc but I guess people always want a better deal, and keep looking for cheaper and cheaper media.
