They should be RicohJPNR01 or possibly CMC.

I bought that exact same 50 pack spindle for $50+tax at my local Best Buy. They are CMCs but I found that they were good discs. They were incompatible with my laptop however (all +Rs are I think) so I had to sell them.

The DVD-R media they have on special in the 50 packs this week is a Bosnian war crime. They are Prodisc 3 discs, which is to say they are drink coasters. My Plextor 708a hired an attorney and got a restraining order when I brought the media within three feet of its bezel.

Prodisc is good media. You best figure out why you cant burn with them. Dont blame the media, it is either ur burner or the retarded operator operating the aperatus which apparantly is retarding the operation to the point of terminal failure tempting the aspirering muses to opine.

How can you make such a statement as: Prodisc is good media, therefore you or your machine are retarded? People used to say the same thing about Ritek and now a bunch of people on this board stopped using those because of bad batches etc. Isn't it possible that he got a bad batch of Prodisc or maybe the ones you were using weren't the same (as in manufactured earlier possibly under better quality control). I am currently using Optodisc gold-top DVD-Rs which a lot of people say are garbage. I get great results. I also don't play games or go online while burning. Still, does that mean I can say that if someone has a problem with their Optodiscs, it is automatically their fault?Prodisc is good media. You best figure out why you cant burn with them. So, with this reasoning, shouldnt the Dampier's post say that maybe its just a bad batch of Prodisc? Or is he ok in saying that Prodisc is another way of saying drink coasters?Originally Posted by 888888
Goes both ways if you ask me. He should return his "bad batch" and try to get a good one? -
Our local Best Buy had a big pile of returned Memorex media when I brought mine back, so I wasn't alone. Read the reviews posted by independent reviewers - it's not a pretty picture.
I recognize there are differences between burners and what media they will accept, but when a host of people report similar problems using different equipment, it's not a good sign.
This manufacturer does not come close to having the reputation of Ricoh or TY or MMC for that matter.
