    I just downloaded a couple of files. One is in the .rar format and the other is in the .ace format. Does anyone know how I can either convert them to mpg or play them? I use EO Video to convert and it said unknown file extension and it can't read it.

    Those are both archiving formats. The standard applications for those are WinRAR and WinACE.

    Oh Thanks a lot. I downloaded Winace and winrar. I notice Winace has a trial period and winrar is freeware. In the future, can i uncompress winace files with winrar? Just wondering.

    No, my Winace trial expired quite some time ago, but it still works . Winace will give you a nag screen though.

    Winrar is not freeware - check their website.

    as for .ace files,
