  1. Hi,
My question is: I accidently had finalize checked when writing to a DVD+RW disc and now it says it can't be formatted. Is there a way around this to save the disc or is it left with what is on?

It can be re-written on, No Sweat.

Something's not right here. A +RW is always finalized if No Multisession is specified. You can still erase them and reuse them regardless. Are you saying you can't erase and reuse the disc. What program are you using.

  5. no, I re wrote to it 5 times and the last time that I formatted it and wrote to the media, I finalized it and now it says I can't format it. RW means ReWritable. I will try to again on Nero.

i believe by default if No Multisession is chosen the disc will be finalized but you can untick that so that you can delete it the next time. after the disc has been finalized, can we reformat it? i didn't know if we could.

In Nero if you choose No Multisession the Finalize Disc box on the burn screen is automatically "checked" and grayed out (cannot be unchecked). If you do not check No Multisession then the Finalize box is left blank and can be checked or unchecked.

Regardless, Nero does not have a "format" option although it will format the disc if it has not been formated. It appears that you cannot re-format but only erase (at least with Nero). There may be another program that will.

  8. You feel stupid? Why? This is actually a good question.

DVDInfoPro has an erase +RW option that should solve the problem...
