    Yes I have had success via DV import. It is close to impossible to capture analog video over Premiere. Adobe Premiere is meant to edit DV video for the most part. So if you have an analog capture card. Capture via its software and import the AVI to Premiere. Premiere only edits AVI. Mpeg is an end product and not meant to be munipulated.
