I was browsing through the futureshop website when i came across 12X Pioneer DVD-R.

I didnt know that 12x media is avaliable. Hell, I didn't even know that 12x recorders were shipping. Is this a mistake? Can anyone verify this?

    Thanks and Cheers.

I guess if they do burn at 12x, that is premium you pay. There is always a premium for the top of the line..

But somehow i dont think that listing is accurate..

I have never seen anyone post read speed before for a DVD-R. It makes no sense.

Given the price i would assume this is a 12x disc. Now if only i had a 12x burner.

  8. What's the sense of backing up your movies if the media cost more than the movie itself? How much would you pay for lesser quality is the question here.....

I doubt it's general purpose, it must be authoring type used in authoring hardware (big money). Anyway, I heard that Pioneer was done making mainstream dvd media.

I am guessing it must be one of those "For Authoring only" discs. Considering that Pioneer developed the two types of DVD-R and is the only one who supports it. I know that these authoring discs are rather expensive.

Still, futureshop is full of idiots who have no f***ing clue what they are selling or talking about. I paid for a 27" Panasonic conventional screen once, and the idiot loaded a 32" digital flat screen in my car. Bah..

Not that i am complaining :P

ill bet its a mistake also, these guys at futureshop.ca have a habit of making such mistakes.
i dont know if anybody knows this but a few month back futureshop.ca made a terrible mistake by entering a wrong price for an item ( a computer system that should have been marked for 14xx$ but instead forgot to put in the 1 in the beggining so ended up posting 4xx$). and yes they left it like this for one day unnoticed. at the end futureshop had to honor the orders of the customers who placed the order at that price.

  13. ill just buy another copy of the movie for $15 instead of backing it up for $20.

Haha, what do you expect form FutureShop.

This is the store that had a 16 year old pimply kid try to sell me 10 000$ TV and audio system setup.
