hi, please could someone advise me on the subject of video capturing? Basically all i want to do is put my home videos onto a cd so they will last longer, also, so i can watch them on either my pc, or on tv. I believe i need to convert them to VCD format? I have tried various demo progs' but they either give very poor quality video or have no sound? Below is my system spec.
    AMD 1.4 ghz
Sparkle Geforce 2 GTS/PRO 64 DDR with TV out (although according to sparkles web site, the card has a Phillips VIVO?)it has a s video connector.
Maxtor 60gig hdd, 512 meg SDRAM
capture card is Pinnacle studio PCTV rave.
    CDRW HP 9100 series, 8x4x32.
    CDRW actima 4x4x20
I think my system is up to doing the task! Any help or advice on what programme to use for best effects ect would be very much appreciated!
    many thanks in advance, Adam.

TWO of your MUST HAVE's are VirtualDub and TMPGEnc which you can get from this site and are completely free! AND are the best a/v editing/converting/capturing/etc... tools you'll ever have. Just check out the tools section at http://www.vcdhelp.com. Hope this helps!
