How much on average do you spend on new technology [1] per year? Before I bought my first PC (33mhz 486) I spent on average less than $200/year on new technology. However starting with that first PC my spending is over $2,000/year.

1 - includes hardware and software
Big Government is Big Business.. just without a product and at twice the price... after all if the opposite of pro is con then wouldn’t the opposite of progress be congress?

  2. Less than $200/year and that includes the money I spend on CD/DVD blank media.

I get most of my software for free (legally). Got a new computer last year so I haven't spent any on hardware since then.

  5. My expenses have increased with each year - I'm a compulsive buyer when it comes to shopping online

my earnings have increased with each year as well though, so it balances itself out.

I fall into the $501 and $2000 range

  12. It was a one off purchase that I don't do every year so in years that I don't buy a new computer my amount spent on computers is less than $200/year.

That said, I only contributed $400 to the overall computer cost.
