  1. Hi, I am having trouble getting my philips DVDR 75 recorder to record from my Pioneer DV-343 dvd player.

I am not trying to record from copy protected dvds, I'm trying to record a section of one dvd that I recorded to another dvd, but whenever I try to record, it records the tv signal instead so instead of getting the dvd recorded, it's recording whatever is on CBS at the time.

I followed the instructions from the manuel so I feel like it's hooked up right and the burner will record from my VCR without problem. It just won't record from my DVD player.

Also, my tv is an SHARP 27N-S100.

Please offer assistance as well as details on how to hook up a dvd player to the philips dvdr 75 in order to record properly.

    Thanks in advance.

You need to hook your dvd player into either EXT2 on the rear or into CAM 1 the phono sockets on the front. If you press the monitor button on the top of the remote you should be able to select the input using the Ch+ and Ch- buttons.

You must go from EXT1 directly to your TV and if you go to the AV channel on your TV you should be able to monitor what you are recording.

I didn't know I could select the input channels with the remote by clicking the monitor button.

  5. I tried it and it works now.

    Thanks alot.

The manuel didn't say anything about selecting the ext1 or 2 channels when recording from dvd to dvd so I had no idea that even existed.

    It was driving me nutts.
