    ok, I have some videos that ive shot, and ive got them in mpeg format, and want to know if there is a program that will let me devide the movie into parts, so I can get the entire video onto disks. I hope its free.

    TMPGEnc will allow this with its MPEGtools. Its free to use for MPEG1's, for MPEG2's you only get a brief trial. It sounds like TMPGEnc will be able to do what you need though for free. Download it and give it a shot, its pretty easy to use.

    MPEG2-VCR from www.womble.com will also work. It's a frame-accurate editor and is very easy to use.
