    Are you wanting to play your videos in a standalone player or just on your computer. If standalone then how many minutes on a CD are you wishing for?

    primarily standalones (fingers crossed), and computer as a fallback.
    i'm using personal DV footage, so 30-40mins per cd will be more than enough. i'm not ripping real movies, just preserving and distributing my footage.
    i just want to know if i have any glaring shortcomings in my technique.
