I have a 700mb MPG1 file (video & audio) that I would like to author to DVD. Is it as simple as selecting the pre-configured (DVD high bitrate) option from the pulldown and selecting my MPG1 file? Or must I first demux the file and encode the audio and video seperately?

    TIA

Yes, but you should do it in reverse order: select the file first, and then choose the preset.

OK. I keep trying to create a DVD from MPG1 using the method above (with numerous files) and continue to get the same errors. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I open the file with FFMPEG, then select the hi or lo bitrate preset and continue to have the same problem:

OK. Is that option available under "Audio"?

    Thanks,

  6. No. It is available under "Options".

Ahhh. Seems to be working as of now!

    Is this movie corrupt?

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

  9. The % bug is going to be corrected in the forthcoming 0.0.8b version. For now, you should just take the .mpg file and run it through the "Author" tool in order to create the DVD folders.

Thanks, now everything seems to work! I have one more question, if I wanted to prove the picture quality what would you reccomend I do? Should I raise the bitrate beyond 4000?

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

  11. I meant improve not prove in that last reply.

    TIA

  12. Raise the bitrate AND lower Qmin.

  13. Guest
OK.What do you mean by QMIN (I think you knew this question was coming next)?

    Thanks,

    Jeremy

  14. Guest
Never mind the last post, I checked the manual and understand now.... Thanks Major!
