I wanted to put one of my vcr tapes on dvd. I copied it to the HD of my e80. Burned it. All is well. I want to when I finlaize, not have to select the dumb default menus that the panny tries to put there. Is it possible?
Thanks!

The bid deal is they're ugly, they suck and they're useless unless you're putting multiple recordings on one disc. I've got movies I'v e done on the e80 when i first got my recorder and finalized the discs without having a menu, but it's been so long since I did it, I can't remember how.

Ok, we'll agree it's debateable of their attractiveness.
However, if you only have one program or video or whatever to put on a disk, they're.....to say the least, useless and overkill.
I know I've done this without putting my final creation in my pc and stripping the menu off with dvd shrink. But how? That's the question. -

It is nice to have a menu even with just one recorded program because you can load the disc without having the program automatically start playing. -
This doesn't help a current E-80 owner, but the E-100H will allow you to select autoplay for the first title (bypassing the menu) before finalizing the disc. The menu is there, you just won't ever see it unless you hit "menu" on your player. I use this option always on (1) title discs.
Just an FYI for those evaluating the 2 recorders. -
What so strange is when you are in the finalize screen, select the menu option to choose your menu number, it says something like select menu 0-9, which to me, implies if you choose 0, then no menu will show. But, if you enter a 0, then it flashes for a moment and goes back to the one that was originally there. DUMB!
