  1. Hi -

I have burned dozens of VCDs using Nero 5.5 recently. When Nero is examining the MPG file after I drag'n'drop it into the "to - be - burned" window, I get a message saying that my file is out of compliance with VCD standards, even though I encoded using the VCD template in TMPGENC. Does this cause problems for anyone?

Playback on my PC is fine, while playback on my cheap-ass Apex AD-1500 is highly problematic. I suspect, however, that this is player-related and not disc-related, because a) it does this with VCDs that did NOT encounter the compliance question in Nero, and b) the player is one cheap-ass player. If anyone else has experienced problems with VCD playback on the Apex AD-1500, please post. Also, any solid recommendations for component DVD players that handle VCD playback flawlessly would be greatly appreciated.

If you are using the 1246 bitrate template in tsunami then you are creating a non standard vcd, but i have never come across a player that reads vcd's that has trouble with this spec(it is only slightly above the norm.
as for nero, just untick "create standard compiant cd" on the new compilation screen
