    Hi,

What is a great software for burning mp3's, that will put the mp3's that are converted from cda format in the order on one cd that I chose? Please and thank you.

I convert my cda's into mp3's bitrate at 192 and in doing so I am able to fit about 7 cd's on one cd.

Normally for songs it does not matter that much if they are in order, however, I have some audio books on cd and if the order gets mixed up it will not make any since.

I tried to add one cd worth, of cda's in mp3's format to nero then the second one, however, it puts them in track number order or title order. I also tried to burn one cd then burn the second cd on the same cd, however, I was unable to get that to work.

I aslo tried to use windows media player, however, I was unable to get that to work also.

I also tried to wrap each cd and burn them that way, which worked pretty well, however, the tracks where so big that I would lose my spot and not be able to get to it again unless I started from the very start again and listen to the whole thing again.

I guess I could manually go though and put track numbers on the second mp3 cd and so on, however, when I make a mistake, I am back at square one again where it will not make since when being listed too. Is there software that will put in track numbers I chose automatically instead of manually? Please and thank you. Does winXP have something that will do that? Please and thank you.

  2. When you have the list of tracks to burn (in Nero), you can drag the tracks into any order you like just before you burn

    Hi,

    Thank you for helping me.

I tried that already many times every time you drag them over it just puts them in its order not the order drag them in.

  4. No you missunderstand me.

I meant AFTER you've dragged and dropped you can then drag and drop each track in the left hand window up and down the list

I apologize, however, I do not understand.

If each track that you drag and drop is not it track or ABC order then nero will put them in order that way not the order that you drag and drop them in.

  6. Ok I'll try one more time.

Drag the files you want to record into the left hand window - doesn't matter what order you drag them in (lets say for expample there are 10 of them). You then have a list of files in the Left hand window numbered 1 to 10. If you want track 10 to be track 1, left click and drag it to the number 1 position. So and and so forth till they are in the order you want.

I'm sorry if you can't follow this. Maybe someone else can explain it better

    Hi,

I tried to drag track 10 to be track 1 like in your example, however, track 10 will not drag to track 1 slot it just stayes in the order nero has it and it will not let me drag it any where else.

  8. When you are burning Mp3's onto CD, you are burning a DATA CD or CD-ROM. You CANNOT force the order in which the files are burnt or the order in which the files are seen by the filesytem with the use of any burning program. The only way to ensure your playback device sees the files in a certain order is to name them in such a way that they will be sorted how you want them. The simplest way of achieving this is to append a number to the start of each filename. So you get:-
    001_file.mp3
    002_file.mp3

    etc.

  9. If you make a Data disc Windows will ALWAYS put the files in numerical and alphabetical order, rename the files such as: 01_xxx.mp3,02_xxx.mp3,etc.

    EDIT;bugster beat me to it.

    Hi,

There has got be be some burning software out there that will, anywhere? Please and thank you.

How about when I convert the cda to mp3 is there software that will have you pick the order of the track number instead of manually putting in the track number intead or also? Please and thank you.

    I use neoaudio to convert.

  14. Ghtpua,

Now I'm bloody well confused! Are you trying to burn an Audio CD (for playing in a standalone CD player) or an MP3 data disk?

If it's the first ,as I assumed that's what you were talking about, then Nero WILL work as stated.

If it's a data disk then rename your files with a numerical prefix also as stated

    Hi,

    I want to burn mp3's.

Thank you for all your help everyone. I really really appreciate it.

I was able to figure out my problem. Saying that I was not able to burn in the order that I drag for mp3's helped. I was able to figure out a way around it.

What I did was created a folder for each of my converted cd's and dragged the different albums into the different folders using nero and it works great in my portable mp3 player also. I just tell my portable mp3 player what folder I want and the tracks are there all in the right order.
