I just backed up my 'American Wedding' dvd and it starts out playing fine and after 3/4 of the movie, it goes to hell (locks up). I ran DVDINFOPRO, and sure enough...there are errors. But I dont know if there is a way to fix these errors or what to do next. Any ideas as why there are errors would be helpful. I know it would seem it is the media, but I never have had these problems before.

DVD Info Pro will only report the presence of the error or more correctly verify what you suspected since it locks up. Once its burned, nothing can be done to the disk. It could likely be your media or your burner or your burn utility or the drive being fragmented or that fact that the computer may have too many progs running in the background - those little icons on the trask bar. In short it can be anything number of things. Try changing media to s different better quality brand. Burn at a lower speed. Don't do anything on the pc during the burn. I use Nero 6.3.0.2 and I run XP Home Pentium 4 / 2.4 mhs and I seldom have a problem with playback. The only times I do, it is most always a media porblem.

Just as I expected then, TY for the reply. I follow every rule you put in the post so I KNOW it has to be the media now. I have had very successful results till now and I figured it to be the media. And sorry I didnt explain myself better, I know I cant do anything to change the bad disk to make it play!!!
