Help! DMRE80HS with Hughes DSS

I have a Hughes Gold Directv DSS receiver, and want to use it with my Panasonic recorder. I didn't think I would have any problems using the infared wired vcr controller. I thought that Panasonic vcr settings (DSS) would work with the recorder, but they do not. Does anyone know a way to get these two to work together. I love the one touch record setup with the DSS, and would like it to control the DMRE80HS. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not entirely sure what you're talking about here, but presumably this is about what settings to choose to operate the equivalent of the Panasonic DMR-E80H's remote control. All I can add to the discussion is that the DMR-E80H essentially uses the Panasonic "DVD Player" remote control signals, not the "VCR" signals.
