  1. I have some questions about the way i must go to make a DVD movie.
I got my DVD-writer yesterday so i dont understand much of it yet.

I'm using Nero 6 and got a DVD-writer that can take all kind of CDs but when i tested to make a movie i couldnt see it on my DVD-player that is a Philips DVD711 so i stated to read a little in the forum and found that some of them that have the same DVD-player cant se DVD+R CDs.
Now i got an DVD-R so i can test if it works with them but i dont want to do anything before i really know how to make one.

    - What programs and stuff do i need to get to the format that my DVD-player can play and how do i do it? I have .avi and .mpg files.

    - What is the best way to write an movie in Nero?

If you got something that i need more please fill it in!
Sorry for my bad english but i hope you will understand what i mean and if you dont, ask

    Thanks

With the Philips 711 you have to make sure the DVD you make has at least 4 GB on it or the 711 will not see it.
As far as other things, use the guides to the left, author a DVD over 4 GB's, burn it to an -RW or +RW disc to test and see how it goes.

The 711 definitely reads DVD-RW and -R discs. Until you've got it down good, I would not burn to a disc that is not re-writable or you will have many bad worthless discs.

    There are 3 basic steps

    1) Encoding
    2) Authoring
    3) Burning

This should be the first place to start before asking any questions :

Once you have read a small amount and people know you've put in an effort we'll all be more than willing to help.

We all started the same place you are right now !!!
