Looking for wisdom on the following:
If it's possible and legal to order a pay per view movie off digital cable or satellite and record to dvd using the latest round of tivo/dvd burner combo boxes, then how is that different than renting a movie (same price,right?) and burning to dvd?

Well, as far as my knowledge base tells me, its illegal to rent a movie and make a copy of it. At least I think it is in Canada.
So if you are assuming its the same thing, then I would assume it to be illegal as well.
