  1. Just plugged in my ADVC 100 for the 1st time. I've got my VCR connected via a composite lead to the front of the box, DV going out of the box to my PC and using MyDVD v5.2.2

In preview I'm only getting B/W with no sound...can anyone help?

Jumpers are all set to on apart from 6, which is set to manual.

Black and white captures usually means PAL or NTSC setting in wrong place. Check that.

Does the DV file on the HD have sound? I use DVIO and WinDV, they don't have sound on preview. Check your Firewire cable, can occasionally cause problems. Try using the s-video adapter that comes with the box and plugs into the back. Some MB-Firewire combinations need to reset once to start working. If all this fails, do a search through some of the posts here.

  9. I think I managed to sort it. Even though it's analogue, with Magix Video Editor and Videowave 5 you have to choose Capture DV and the preview picture and sound are exceptional - with the capture too. With MyDVD you have to choose Capture Analogue, but you still can't preview the sound and the picture is not as good as the other two on playback.

    So all-in-all I'm getting there.
