Hi there peeps I was wondering, I have this short movie that is abour 200kb but when I start using TMPGEnc it says after encoding it'll be like 1gb. I've done this before and I haven't seen any reason why this would be, the average bit rate is the same, the audio bit rate is the same and the resolution is the same the.

I used it on Virtualdub on it, and then i got a message saying that it had detected an improper VBR audio encoding in the source AVI file and that it will rwwrite the audio header with standard CBR values during prosessing for better cambatability.
then thee is a bunch of stuff I have no idea what it means, lol
about decompress the audio stream to an uncomposed WAW file and recompress with a constant bitrate encoder

    ????????????

Have you actually let TMPGEnc finish, and got 1016 MB?
If not, do as RabidDog suggests, and go ahead.
If, then extract audio first, using VirtualDub, and convert it to WAV with some converter (which depends on what encoding is used in the AVI).
Then use this WAV as audio source when encoding.
On the other hand, 200MB AVI could (at least in theory) result in a > 1 GB SVCD mpeg. It all depends on the length (in time) of the original AVI.

and it does get huge when trying to decode it

plus all other that size worked fine, and they are the same type of file and all, just the audio thingy...

Never say "just that little thingy" again, when it comes to AVI encoding!
I suggest you head over to teh CONVERT / AVI to SVCD section, and do some heavy reading!

Extract the audio with Goldwave and use the wav as the audio source. File size is determined by bitrate (kb/s) times size in seconds. Check your clip length and bitrate.
