  1. Hey everyone, I'm new here and I already have a question. My friend saw a commercial for a DVD burner that can record from TV. She couldn't remember what company makes it and I've tried looking for it at Fry's but they don't have it. I really want to get it for my boyfriend for Xmas. Does anyone know what company makes it and/or where I can get it? Also, is there anything else I should know about the burner? Are there any restrictions on what it can record?

Why dont you just buy a panasonic dvd recorder it works like a vcr but much better ,I have 2 dmre-20 and a 80hs with a hard drive that works like a tivo they range from 300.00 bucks to 800.00 bucks and ebay has them at below retail prices..the reason I recommend the panasonic is because they seem to be the best ones so far.

I think you're cofusing a DVD burner with a DVD recorder. All dvd recorders will record TV signals, much like a VCR, but they use disks instead of tape. Burners are drives that you stick in a PC, together they can record from TV also, but it's much more complicated.
