I am totally new to and looking for suggestions on a quality CD burning software and guide for backing up my personal CDs. This site appears to be dedicated to DVD so I don't want to post my question on the wrong site and upset anyone. Your help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  2. Well, dedicated to DVDs and xVCDs, but yeah, good sites to try would be afterdawn.com and doom9.org

Craig thank you for the suggestion. I noticed there are several names and versions of nero, do you recommend any particularly one for CDs? Thanks again.

  8. @golfnut,
Here are a few freeware burn programs:
    www.burnatonce.com
    http://hem.bredband.net/cdburnerxp/
    DeepBurner

BTW..the above can rip audio CD's but CDex is very good for ripping, recording analog and making MP3's.

If you're a newbie....Roxio Easy CD Creator...although far from being free..... is also a great one....been doing CD stuff for YEARS now and STILL use it.
